Wrangler is a 15.2 hand, 4 year old registered paint gelding. You won't find any horse in this price range that can execute as many manuevers as wrangler on the ground or under saddle. I'm told by many that he would be a great "All Around" horse. Purchased as a 2 year old. I started him under saddle myself and he’s had two years of consistent training. I’ve used Natural Horsemanship methods taught by Clinton Anderson. Wrangler is proficient with “Gaining Respect on the Ground” Series 1, 2, and 3. After completing all of the groundwork series, I trained him under saddle. He has completed “Riding With Confidence” Series 1, 2, and 3. He learns fast and remembers everything I’ve ever taught him. All you have to do is touch him with your leg and he responds! Sidepass, two track, you name it. Wrangler’s biggest attribute is his “Heart.” He say’s “yes sir” every single time. He has never once refused, and always gives me his all.
I ride Western, but he could go either way. I’ve taken him to one show just to get acquainted with being off the farm. He exceeded expectations. He tied to the trailer all day without incident. I warmed him up in the pen with 20 or so western pleasure horses. He couldn’t have been any more calm and slow. I was very impressed. He’s extremely gentle natured and wouldn’t dream of kicking. He can handle being indoors and outdoors alike. First three years of his life, he was pasture boarded. Last year, he’s been in a stall during the day and gets turned out overnight.
I’ve trail ridden him about a dozen times. He does well with other horses around. I wouldn’t advise going solo.
He’s great with children and I’ve had several on his back. I always lead him with children and there’s never been an incident. Due to his age, I wouldn’t recommend him as a “children’s” horse.
He has a great disposition with no vices. I can even clean his sheath myself.
In the past 4 or 5 months, Wrangler has really started to mature. He can read my mind and gets the correct lead every time. He's really starting to figure things out and loves to go slow. His canter is extremely smooth. Every time someone rides him, they can't believe how smooth and responsive he is. I'd be happy to let you speak with anyone at the barn who knows him.
This horse is very intelligent and always remembers his lessons. I've hobbled him every way possible and he "get's it." He trusts people and is always respectful. You won't find a horse with more respect on the ground.
I planned on having wrangler for his entire life, but plans change. I am selling for one reason only. I’ve got my eye on a high class reiner. I must sell Wrangler to afford this horse.
